I've always tried to get people to adopt animals out of the pound rather than buying the expensive purebreds. The ones in the pound usually live longer and have less health problems becuase they're not inbred. Besides, mutts are so much more fun than purebreds!! When you get a mutt puppy, you never know what it's gonna look like when it's all grown up! and that's half the fun!!

las dos perras ke tengo y mi gata son adoptadas, directo de la calle esos animales a veces son mucho mejores ke los comprados porke son mas agradecidos ^^
y años antes tenia un perro adoptado tambien, pero fue envenenado aun lo extraño a veces... no se como hay gente mala ke hace esas cosas tan crueles

Of all our current animals, only the cockatiel and rabbit were petshop purchases ^^ Two rescue dogs, two cats from close friends, and two tamed stray cats. Yay!

That sounds sad, but you have to think of what cats actually do to the environment. They devistate everything because they reproduce worse than rabbits, no joke. I love cats as much as the next person, but I don't think any person should own so many of them, especially if they are indoor/outdoor cats.

I do agree that stray cats and dogs, as well as pidgeons are taken as contaminating subjects in the enviroment, but if they are, aren't poor people who lives in the streets contaminating subjects too? Why not take them with lies to a place where you can kill them without anybody to notice? it would be the end of the problem too, don't you think? I do not think that you will agree with me, but the thing is the same if you think of us as living creatures as animals are. We have to create a better state of mind in people, there are places here that makes that surgery for free (that one that makes male and female animals not being able to reproduce) but people is too lazy to take them there, (I can tell bcause my neighbours have this female dog in the street and with her hip broken, but she gets pregnant everytime she's on heat, and guess what?? the clinique is 2 blocks away!), it's easier to let them reproduce and then throw them away bcause they're pregnant or bcause they wet the couch... When you get a stray animal, you take it to the vet to check it and turn that animal into a healthy one, who's going to live in your house for the rest of it's life. That's what we do here, we take them to the vet, pay for the meds,parasite killers and necessary shots and the surgery and they're house-cats until they die.

If people changes, situations change too, look at those groups that protect those species near to extintion, they've achieved little by little their goals, why not try to make people to understand that stray animals can be good too if you just help them to have birth controls too... I always wonder that if stray people get their second chances, why then animals can't have them too?
