A funny pic I wanted to do... well, not that funny, I just portrayed Frida Kahlo in a way I imagine her if she was an animal...

I'm not a fan of her bcause of her celebrity life and the current fashion that she has... I like her paintings because with a simple portrait she could express all the chaos in her heart.

I just imagined her as a cat, she is a mixture of wild animals trapped in a sick woman's body. She was elegant and deep, bad mooded and strong looking, I had a cat who was just like her, so elegant but if you came near and tried to play, she always was so full of herself and started to play with her rules... I imagine Frida this way.

This was based on the "Self-Portrait with Monkey" painting she did.

All was made with acrylics and colored pencils. it has 2 layers of glossy sealant wich gave it a very unfinished look but that works in the overall image, because it looks like a rustic painting on wood. I loved the results :)

This is an ACEO (Art Cards, Editons and Originals) and meassures 2.5" x 3.5" on illustration board.

She's for sale, let me know if you're interested :)

Price = $12
Shipping=Free. $2 for registered shipping.

Thanks for looking ^^ I'm going crazy now, Frida Kahlo as a cat? hahaha I must now do a big cat as Diego Rivera >.< I'm really diggin' into other kind of ideas ^^

Wow! Very creative! I also liked that she could express so much with a simple self portrait, although I think she painted herself looking less pretty than she actually was.
I'm sure she would have loved this interpretation of her, had she been alive to see it.

Thanks! :D

Yes, she wasn't that weird looking as she portrayed herself in her paintings, she was even prettier than Salma hayek playing the role >.<

I'm sure that with her dark humor she would definetely painted a very crazy portrait about me... hehehe
