Worked a little bit more on it today now that I have good daylight ^^
I made some adjustments all night and during the day, in her hair, her lips, the main horse and the waves... I can consider this almost finished in a 95% If I don't change anything today, I will sign it and place it on my bookshelf There's enough space for it...
If I sign it today, I'll post pics of the finished thing tomorrow ^^
Thanks for the ones who commented on the update I made yesterday! I know I know, at daylight she doesn't look like a prosti girl... Sorry sorry >.< I just felt her expression was not well achieved and I went to the edges of definition
Diana is about to win over this painting!!!! Diana 1- Painting 0!!! Take that stupid you piece of wood!
Your understanding of oil paints blows my mind, and I still dig that many of your canvases are boards of wood instead of the a-typical canvas boards or mounted canvas cloths. ^__^
Heh, I'm too scared to touch oils ( and can't afford them and all the oils and chemicals that go with them that one seems to need to buy to use them correctly ).
I still need to learn a lot of oil paints, it's amazing what can be achieved with it, and there are some things that just won't fit... About the canvases, well, I stole the idea from lots of US artists that are using it as their canvases... it's cheaper than a normal canvas, but it needs lots of preparation... mostly if it's a big painting... I didn't even sand this wood as I should, but I really gave it a good sealant so it won't absorb the oil so easily ^^
Don't be so scared, it's great to learn, you have lots of basic techniques that are really helpful, after that you only need to try them out for the oil paintings, I just use the oils (the ones here are not that expensive >.< Like $2 for a medium sized tube... Windsor&Newton are not an option for me yet >,< And well, the expensive thing is the canvas, but you can use almost anything ^^ Well prepared watercolor paper and stuff like that ^^ You know? I learned some basics on the website of Matthew D. Wilson (Illustrator from Magic:The gathering) there's a good tutorial for oil paintings, it could be really helpful for you!
Thanks a lot for stopping by! I'm so happy that you liked this painting!
