A very personal piece, wich wasn't that personal until I finished it and noticed that my urge to draw kois might have a meaning.
Kois represent strenght against odds in some cultures, funny thing is that I had the urge to draw kois when I saw pics of a pond taken by a friend who went to Japan a few weeks ago. I painted the kois, used my favorite colors for the girl (blue and dark yellow for the eyes) and then I asked myself "why kois?" ... I did a search to see what people might think when they see this painting, and saw the meaning of koi fishes...
And it relates too much to myself... funny right? =S

Cool, I didn't know Kois represented that. Glad this piece helped you figure out / fully realise some stuff for yourself. It looks really awesome, though it messing around with my perception, is she underwater with the fish swimming around her? But then it looks like water droplets at the bottom, so she is half underwater, and the koi are floating throught the air around her?
Either way it still looks awesome.
